"Take Five" for WSU and higher education, Cougar Chat

Open Letter from Judy Rogers, Chair WSU Foundation Board of Trustees

Below is an open letter from Chair Judy Rogers to the Board of Trustees asking the members to become a registered member of WSU Impact. Please take a few minutes to read how any proud Coug or friend of WSU can support the university by lending his/her voice in advocating for higher education.

As all of us are aware, Washington State University and all of higher education in the state have been through a tough four-year financial battle.  We were very fortunate to escape the last legislative session without a budget cut.  President Floyd has been a powerful voice in support of WSU and higher education.  Now President Floyd has been named to co-chair Governor-elect Inslee’s transition team.  These factors bring hope for the future.  Hope, however, won’t “win the day for crimson and gray.”  Our action will.  That is why I am writing to encourage you to become involved in the WSU Alumni Association’s advocacy organization, WSU Impact.

Now, alumni and friends can help ensure WSU’s continued progress by joining WSU Impact. WSU Impact is a new initiative launched by the WSUAA that supports citizen advocacy for higher education in Washington. The dynamic website features new e-advocacy tools and keeps alumni and friends up to date on critical legislative issues affecting WSU. With a few clicks, members of WSU Impact can stay informed, share relevant news, and contact their legislators.

I would like to thank those of you have already joined WSU Impact. If you have not yet joined, please consider doing so today. I invite you to visit www.wsuimpact.dev to discover ways that WSU Impact can help share information, recruit volunteers, and advocate for higher education.

Membership in WSU Impact is growing each day, fueling support for WSU and for higher education. Whether you live in state or out of state, WSU needs your support.  Please join me in my drive to reach 1,000 new members by the start of the January Legislative session.

As a member of WSU Impact, you can make a meaningful difference for WSU and higher education in Washington. Your support will enhance the future of our state and future generations of Washingtonians.

Sincerely,

Judy Rogers, Chair Washington State University Foundation Board of Trustees
