Town Hall Meetings March 14th – share your voice, meet your legislators

town hall meetings

Saturday, March 14th marks the half way point in the 2015 legislative session and is when most of the Town Hall meetings are being held around the state. Taking part in your town hall meeting is an excellent way to share your views and communicate the value of higher education with your lawmakers. Talking points for the Town Hall meetings are ready for you by clicking here.

Washington’s legislature is gearing up for the second half of the budget session, where the conversation will likely be dominated by budget shortfalls and challenges in addressing priorities. Now is the time to let your elected officials know what you care about. It is also a great time to talk about your support for reinvesting in higher education and build on the investment support the legislature demonstrated in 2013.

Lucky for you, legislators across our state will be holding town halls in their communities this coming weekend. Most legislators will be conducting town hall meetings in their district on Saturday, March 14th. This is one of the best opportunities to meet your legislator and to express your views and concerns about higher education in an informal setting.

If you are not sure which district you live in or who your legislators are, you can log into your WSU Impact personal home page. There you will also find specific talking points for Town Hall meetings that are important to share with your Senator and two Representatives.
