"Take Five" for WSU and higher education, In the News

YOU can support WSU by lending your voice

It’s a new year, and we look forward to 2018 being even more exciting for Washington State University’s campuses. Last year, we celebrated the opening of a brand-new medical school that’s bringing hands-on education, impactful health sciences research, and groundbreaking public health outreach to our communities. We dedicated a new academic building at WSU Everett. We experienced agricultural breakthroughs that will help our farmers grow prosperous crops of nutritious food. And we’ve seen big strides in renewable energy, in cognitive science, and small business development.

At every one of WSU’s campuses, we see students and faculty learning, growing, and improving their community. And, none of this would be possible without the support and funding from the State of Washington.

That’s what we do. That’s why we’re here. That’s what WSU Impact is all about.

FullSizeRender[2]By bringing together alumni, supporters, and boosters of WSU to talk to lawmakers and share what we value and care about, WSU Impact helps you communicate with your lawmakers in Olympia. Using our interactive tools, you can easily support higher education in Washington State. You can lend your voice to ensure the university has the resources it needs to educate students, conduct research, and provide services to support communities throughout the state.

Over the last few months, we’ve had a chance to celebrate WSU’s growth and success and analyze needs for the future. We’ve looked at the budget and figured out how WSU can better support the state’s educational and workforce needs.

Now, it’s time to get back to work.

As our legislators get ready for another session, which begins on January 8th, we want to make sure that they know that now, more than ever, we’re in their corner. We support them. And we need their support to keep WSU’s education, research, and service mission alive.
